How do you store your threads? I personally store mine in what is actually an art box (that I picked up from Aldi for $12!). I like this option because it keeps a my threads in one place and it’s easy enough to move around the house (….. it may also give pirate treasure chest vibes which the nerd in me low key loves 😅)

#16Patch in all its gorgeous pastel glory 😍 obsessed doesn’t feel like a strong enough sentiment for how I’m feeling about this quilt top at the moment. Now to decide what to use for backing 🤔

This girl has music and kindness in her soul. Tonight we’re going to see her most treasured singer in concert, @lauren_daigle and she wanted to make something to gift her. She made this from start to finish all by herself (with some needle threading assistance and cheering on from mum of course) and to say I’m so proud of her is an understatement! Next hurdle, to work out how to actually get it to @lauren_daigle at the concert tonight! #laurendaigle

I’m not 100% sold and I think I may have been doing something wrong, because even as an avid hand quilted it still strained my hand ALOT. Help a sister out, any advice?

Is there actually anything better than a simple HST quilt? Like honesty truely they are so satisfying to make! Bonus was I mathed this one pretty wrong and it ended up being a twin not a throw 🫣🙌

I realised I never shared a finish photo of this quilt! I finished this one well over 6 months ago and it’s in high rotation in our house (and currently on Miss P’s bed). This is one of my favourite quilts Ive made- the pattern lent itself to so fun #handquilting

I’m such a sucker for simple patterns. Don’t get me wrong- I appreciate and am in awe of complex pieced quilts- but there is something so homely and comforting about a simple repeat block. What’s YOUR favourite quilt block? 🤔

So turns out 20% of you DON’T label your quilts! 😱 The blog post this week is about quilt labels, different ways to make them and includes bonus at home printable labels (like this one pictured).
(Quilt is #paintlakequilt pattern by @theblanketstatement which has lived firmly on our bed since 2019 but only just got its label 🤭)

Our little Miss P is now in her own big bed! This last week we moved her out of her cot and she officially has her own room. I get it’s trivial in the grand scheme of things, but it feels like another step away from our baby no longer being a baby but a little girl 😭 Of course she has three quilts on her bed to keep her cozy (and the plushy is called “Cowramel” for this who didn’t ask 😂🐂)

Do you square up your blocks? I’ll be honest I’m most of the time team “fudge your seams” (aka, wiggle them till they work) HOWEVER I might be a recent convert and see what the fuss is about. Although in all honesty I’m team “finished is better than perfect” 😅👌

This year my goal was to work through my #WIP pile and I gave myself permission to only start one new quilt (which will be gifted next month for a wedding). HOWEVER, when Miss E saw @thencamejune new #meadowstarquilt she begged me to make her one. Miss E has been around quilt her whole life so is pretty unfazed when it comes to me sewing things (as far as 8 year olds go)- so how could I say no to her? 😂

A nine patch big block Irish chain- easy enough right?! I just finished it 😂🫣 Little Miss P approves though and has firmly claimed it for herself.

Sewing with a toddler… Very wonky. Very chaotic.
Very thankful my @janomeaustralia has stop/start button so she can help with the chain stitching 😅

A couple of weeks ago we adopted this beautiful cat Melody from @cathavenau ❤️ When we visited her she had a blanket in her cage that she was carrying around with her and we knew immediately she would fit well into our quilt covered household 😂🫣 Miss E had been asking for a cat for so long and the two of them have formed the sweetest bond and have fast become inseparable. #adoptdontshop
